TRANS/HITOS 2017: Inter-Actions features ceramics at Cevisama that integrate advanced technologies
Trans-Hitos is the ceramics for architecture exhibition that is held during the CEVISAMA trade fair in Valencia, an essential meeting point for the global ceramics industry and a key means of keeping abreast of the sector. In 2017, the 13th Trans/Hitos show is being held thanks to the backing of CEVISAMA, on 600 m2 of the level 2 pavilion crossover of the Valencia Trade Fair facilities from 20 to 24 February.
Under the motto “Inter-Actions”, the exhibition showcases, in a transgressive and innovative fashion, advanced uses of ceramics beyond mere coverings. Trans/Hitos 2017: “Inter-Actions” expresses the reciprocal relationships and evolution of our interaction with ceramics, which at present, driven by the striking innovations generated by R&D&I, make ceramics a key material in today’s and tomorrow’s living environment.
Indeed ceramics, which have been able to adapt to societal and personal transformations, have adopted new forms and functions in harmony with those changes, for example through their application in avant-garde technologies such as 3D printing; inkjet decorations with functional inks; urban applications in outstanding projects; presence in town streets, squares, parks, and avenues through games, urban furniture, public services, signalling, etc., giving rise to fresh “Inter-Actions” that do not fail to surprise us. And, of course, this event has led to “Inter-Actions” between professionals from different fields in contributing varying approaches that have enriched the exhibition contents, yielding a show that, jointly embodying all these endeavours, seeks to drive truly innovative projects of great beauty and use to society.
Trans/Hitos invites all Cevisama 2017 visitors to discover ceramics that incorporate the most advanced technology into a so-called traditional material that, however, demonstrates such an ability to generate innovation that many professionals worldwide already consider it indispensable for their projects.
Trans/Hitos 2017 “Inter-Actions” has been realised thanks to the backing of the Cevisama organisation and the collaboration of the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER), the show being designed, executed, and coordinated by the Habitat Area of the Instituto de Tecnología Cerámica (ITC).
